Sodium phosphate is a blood preserving salt; it causes deacidification of the blood. It is used to break down carbohydrates into water and carbonic acid. It is by means of these two substances that all acids in our organism are broken down so that they can be eliminated. In many cases the organism is not up to this task, because too many acid-containing or –forming foods are absorbed, and there is insufficient sodium phosphate to reduce acidity. The saponification of fats (a step in fat digestion) and the digestion of protein also require sodium phosphate. If this essential life salt that is needed to break down the acidity is missing, the acid often binds with calcium, which can lead to the formation of stones and crystalline deposits in the joints and tissue.
Sodium phosphate also helps to prevent suppurations and inflammations, because inflammations cannot easily form in a nonacidic environment.
