How great to open up such a restaurant for those extra sensitive!! Of course, because they are, you'd have to have some heavy disclaimers!

those restaurants do exist. they are few and far between. This will change. My allergist (Gangbusters) told me taht there are 25,000,000 people with food allergies. something will have to be changed somewhere.

I also find that the better restaurants will cater to those with food allergies. Good thing I eat out with people who like food or else I'd be in really big trouble.

Wow, eh?! And it seems more and more are becoming food sensitive! My cousin has celiac and cannot eat wheat.

There's a wonderful organic vegan/vegetarian restaurant in Ottawa called the Green Door. I haven't been there in over 12 years, but they were so good. Expensive though, as you paid by the weight of your plate!

that is the bummer about these types of restaurants. The prices can be nosebleed high.

I am getting ready to make this soon. Bought the green onions (beautiful one) from one of my favorite farmers at the farmer's market tonight. Won't be in town tomorrow but perhaps I can make it the following night. Hot here in Northern Calif. at the moment too.

I've made that very same soup for a crowd of people (all living in my house...'nother story). It was voraciously consumed by all and they wanted me to make more. I told them all....okay...use your imaginations here.

andieangel, do you know about www.specialfoods.com? if its not dot com, its .org i think. what they offer is specific for allergic folks, and ranges from lotus root flour, to stuff i cannot remember, but thought looked absolutely WONDERFUL!! they also do allergy cookbooks, but yours will be better!!!
