OK, this will be my last post on this, I promise. I'm even getting a headache. This site has a calendar that details the moon phases for every single day. According to this calendar, the Balsamic Moon is on Saturday. A few of the other sites also say Saturday, so I think it would be fine if we were to perform any ritual on Saturday night. Again, it's all in our intention, right? www.throughnightsfire.com/astrocalendar.html

Andie- This is one of those things Kim has posted about. The wishing moon is actually the Basalmic moon as Judie says. I don't know, I think anytime within that 3 day period works. It's all about intentions and sending them out loud and strong, and letting go of the outcome!!!

The New Moon Eclipse is in Virgo on Friday, September 22nd. The Balsamic Moon is listed as listed here: www.friendsofastrology.org/MolyArticles/darkmoons2006.html It starts on Wednesday, September 20th at 7:17 pm and ends at 6:55 am, the time of the New Moon. I'm not sure of the time zone.

Thanks for that link Kim. I read the article and she mentions the time zone:
"The following list provides the Dark Moon periods in local Chicago time for the year 2006"

I'm not an astrology expert whatsoever. but from my understanding, manifestations that fall under the sign (or is it house) of the new moon are stronger. (Did that even make any sense? ). On the horoscopeswithin.com, she has this info on the 6th House, which is Virgo: The 6th House The sixth house of your horoscope is the house of health and service. General well-being and illness are found here. Proactive measures you take for your health such as diet and exercise are also found in the sixth house. Hygiene, work (not career, as that is a tenth house matter), service, employees, relations with employer, anyone who provides a service to you in whatever capacity, domestic pets, and your daily routine are related to the 6th house. Virgo is the sign that governs the 6th house in the natural zodiac.

Judy... I think you are getting confused wth too much deatil and too many different adtrologers. The houses are different for everyone. Virgo is my 2nd house, for example. The horoscope pages generally refer to natural houses, such as Aries being the first house and Pisces being the 12th. It is different for everyone. Additionally, at the time of the drawing, for exmple, Virgo is the 5th house.
The Balsamic Moon at this point is actually in Virgo right now. The same sign as the New Moon. This isn't always the case, but the New Moon occurs at 29 degrees Virgo.
Most of the horoscope sites talk in very general terms. For example, I usually read the Leo scopes since the planet positions are accurate for my houses. I also read Pisces just because it is my Sun sign.
I did e-mail the site that wrote the Dark Moon schedule and I got a great response from them. Thanks. I didn't even notice that it mentioned Chicago... duh.

No problem. It can be VERY confusing. General astrologers write for mass audiences and can't get very specific.

I really liked this info: Balsamic Moon, October 17, 9:37 PM EDT, 9 Virgo 32 Balsamic Moon is the optimum time of any month to release that which you no longer want or need in your life—physically, mentally or emotionally. It's the end of the lunar cycle, the Crone's Moon, seen only as a slender crescent in the pre-dawn sky. Do your magic of release from the time given above, but before New Moon, which will occur at 1:14 am EDT on October 22. Balsamic Moon Ritual of Release Choose your form of release according to the element of Moon at the time. She will be in Virgo, an earth sign until 4:18 am EDT, when she moves into Libra, an air sign. If you live where autumn leaves are falling, you can use them for this very simple ritual of release, or you could collect small seeds or stones. Let each thing you choose represent something that you would release from your life. Name it, and say its name as you release it and what it represents to you. If Moon is in Virgo, you'll bury it in the Earth. If Moon has moved into Libra, then for a leaf, hold it up in the wind and let it be carried away, or if there's not enough wind, hold it lightly in your hand and blow it away. If it's a seed or stone, throw it away, as far as you can (in a direction, of course, where it won't break something)! Then, walk away and don't look back.
