OK, I'm not a drinker. I might have a drink occasionally but usually one is enough so I fail to understand why the Iowa State Fair has to have beer tents and beer by the bucket for all the idiots who want to walk around too drunk to know if they're having a good time or not?! What possible benefit is there to having a bunch of drunks wandering around drinking and brawling as they did last night?! Can't the boozers find some place else to go or give it up for a few hours? And why do we encourage it?

They keep lowering the legal limit here, so if you want more than two beers over a 3-4 hour span, you are running the risk of DUI. I don't understand why anyone would go to a fair and get drunk like that. Especially knowing they will have to get behind the wheel of a car to go home.

Personally, I would rather spend my calories on a corn dog or some funnel cakes!

I think of all alcohol as a form of self-medication. Drinkers want to get numb or escape something.

What a rediculous situation - lots of comments in the paper of people mentioning they won't go at night any more because of the drinking and drunks. Maybe they'll do something like they did with the Iowa State spring drunk fest and ban alcohol next year.
