The situation everywhere has me on edge. However, the Cuban situation is particularly tricky for me. If Castro leaves power there might be a chance for an improvement in Cuba...however look at Haiti and the Dominican Republic these are both democratic countried in shambles and extreme poverty. Will Castro's stepping down bring about only a poor Cuba? Is the system keeping Cuba in place? The Embargo believe it or not has also helped keep the communist regime afloat...Castro has something to hold on to and blame the US instead of the political system. Now, if we strive for democracy...I truly do not want the US's kind of Democracy entering Cuba. Lordy, I don't trust the US government or Bush or the way they are trying to spread democracy....will I trust them when they try to go to Cuba all embittered and led by embittered exiles? embittered politicians for the amount of time Fidel has been in power? This is so complicated Im not sure whether I want Castro gone or not. Im typing here because Im hoping for good energies and the wellbeing of the island one way or another. The island is very dear to me.

Sending good energy to Cuba. It's such a beautiful place; I've always wanted to visit there.

We just seem to mess up countries that we help.
