Yes, again, with the doctor rant! Hate them, hate them, hate them! The don't play well together, they don't listen (especially to women) and they don't deserve the power we find ourselves forced to give to them. No details except to say a fairly simple but inconvenient hand injury has turned out fairly badly - doctor wants me to practice making a fist - I'M GOING TO MAKE A FIST ALRIGHT! Two weeks and still no mobility, lots of swelling, skin irritation, bruising. Oh, and did I mention he casually mentioned maybe he shouldn't have made the splint quite that long or made me wear it for quite that length of time?! Hate them, hate them, hate them!

I am not a fan either. What really did it for me was when I lived with a medical resident. She was so dirty. Never cleaned the bathroom and she would leave a wet towel in the tub for months. Who know what was growing there. And same for the kitchen. So nasty. I couldn't understand how she being in that field is so unclean. Just nasty. And they are the ones taking care of the sick! No wonder so many people die in surgery of infections. Her medical friends were the same. And I also found them very inconsiderate. If I had any notion of marrying a doctor, that pretty much killed it!

You know, I found a doctor I like yesterday. I hope he's a good one because I'd rather not have to keep looking. He not only washed in his hands when he entered the room(!) but was actually very empathetic to my circumstances and then hunted down my husband in the waiting room to tell him to be nice to me - I deserved some caretaking! Let's just hope he's a good doctor, not just a nice doctor!

Fingers crossed here!
(I can just imagine J's face when he got hunted down in the waiting room and told to 'be nice'! LOL!)

Hey, sounds like I would like that Dr! I have a good GP as well. He is very open and listens to me. After my ordeal 2 years ago he told me that he trusts my instincts because at first he thought I was a little nuts with my blood sugar stuff, but it turned out that I was right. So, now he doesn't doubt what I say. LOL

Hubbie was a bit shocked to say the least! I'd told him of our nightmare week the week before and he was so sympathetic -- actually was there for an eye problem but the therapy did oodles more than the examination!
