dogs and cats used as shark bait

my dears, please please join me in attempting to combat the appalling slaughter going on on reunion island, in the indian ocean.

dogs and cats are being tortured for the purpose of shark catching. these poor little souls are forced to endure double barb hooks being forced through their snouts or the tendons in their heels, and then towed behind boats to attract sharks.

i saw these horrific pictures in my daily newspaper, but you can also see them at an organisation called sea shepherd. you could sign the petition of the royal society for the prevention of cruelty to animals, if you would be good enough to. go to www.rspca.org and you will find the link there.

this is something which has absolutey devastated me. the monstrous cruelty inflicted on these poor little mites is just beyond belief. it beggars understanding.

PLEASE JOIN ME. write to the newspapers, phone the tv stations, sign the petition, write your political representative, write to your president or prime minister, MAKE PEOPLE AWARE OF THIS. it defies belief that this is going on. i am in absolute shreds over it.

One reason I decided to leave Bali when I did last winter was the treatment of animals. I was eating at a seaside restaurant with friends while spending a day at the beach. A Balinese man kicked a sickly dog so hard it could barely walk after he kicked it. The yelps were horrific. Some things are hard to stomach.
