My Husband had mentioned that article.. thanks for posting it.. If we rebuild that city without rebuilding those marshes we're fools. complete and total fools. a friend of mine suggested that we restore the french quarter/ historic district and set it up as a tourists attraction. like Jamestown, virginia then build the city on higher ground elsewhere. chemical experts say it may be uninhabital for years due to the toxic soup released..... so I think my friends idea makes sense. at the same time we could work on restoring the wetlands.

That makes a lot of sense Teagee! I think that will take years if not decades to clean up, much better to get the parts going that can be utilized and take our time with the rest!!!!

Maybe if we continue polluting and destroying the land, mother nature will find ways such as natural disasters that will make the land uninhabitable for human beings, so it has time to cure and heal itself.

That was an interesting article.
Global warming is suppose to be one reason the hurricanes are becoming so destructive. Too bad Bush does not believe in global warming. He is not exactly the ecology President either. Someone told me the other day will he is a "war president" yeah war and vacation ~ he seems to be always on one.
