The other night I had a dream that my family and I was touring this old house built in the 1800's. The principle of the school I work in was giving the tour. She asked me and my daughter to get together for a picture. She took a Polaroid picture of us. When we looked at the picture we saw a third person in the picture. It was a women who was dressed in a different period. We all concluded it must be a spirit of a women because there was no one else standing by us and there was kind of a haze around her. We all went to bed that night and we were staying at this house. I was on my stomach just about asleep down stairs and everyone else was upstairs. I started to think about the lady in the picture and got scared. So I thought I would go up and sleep with my daughter.
Just as I went to try and get up two very strong hands pushed down hard on the back of my neck holding me down. In the dream I didn't think this was a person it was the spirit of the women. Pushing me down into the bed. My body thrashed and I moaned trying harder and harder to get up. I woke up moaning, scared, looking around the room trying to shake the scared feeling off. Has anyone else dreamed they could not get up?

I have heard of others going thru something similar if they were astral traveling for the first time. Then again, I have read that everyone does this so who knows. There have been times that I try to wake up from a dream and physicaly I cannot but I have never had a dream of sleeping and not waking. I have had dreams where my body feels so heavy i cannot move it.
will be interesting to see what someone else comes up with.

I have had that happen to me once. It was very scary and I knew who it was...my mom's sister's dead husband. At the time my mom and her sisters were at a falling out point for good. And I told him to leave me the hell alone! He never bothered me again. The one thing I have learned and works for me is that I tell them they are NOT invited into my dreams.

It was scary and it took me a couple of days to get over it. I very rarely have night mares. Most of the dreams I have are pleasant with a lot of feelings. The night before this I dreamed that I woke up and saw a shadow standing at the end of my bed and when I tried to focus on it as I screamed it disappeared. I woke up scared and looking around my room. So I wondered what it meant and if anyone else had experienced this.
Scorpio 75 Wow you think it was a real spirit that attacked you?
Did you see him? I did not see the women attack me I just felt it was her.

I didn't see him. I just knew it was him. People have said that they have seen his spirit wandering around a lot.

oh, I have never seen a spirit as I know of but I do feel that they are around. I get a feeling that someone is there or I will see a shadow out of the corner of my eye and when I look up there is nothing there usually at night as if someone is in the hallway.
Sometimes at night I will wake up suddenly and feel as if someone has been there not to hurt me, but it feels more like they were visiting or watching over me. Thanks for your replies.
