the comedian was talking about bush staying on his ranch for 2 days after the storm hit... then said remember the good old days when bush only sat on his a** for 7 minutes after a disaster hit.. )referring to the fact that bush sat for 7 minutes after he was told "that the country had been attacked" on 9/11

I have a feeling Bush knew 9~11 was happening before it hit.
The footage of him sitting on his ass for 7 minutes was really strange to watch. Bill Maher can be very funny at times.

sadly trout.. I agree . I watched his first speech at that time and I saw a man trying not to grin...through his whole speech. I could not believe it, so I called husband into the room.. he saw the same thing.

I think there is even evidence that Bush's relatives even made some giant financial gain from from 9~11 and that they knew about it in advance. I forget the whole story something to do with owning shares of stock in companies that were involved. I will ask my friend who reads up on all these things.
It is really sad. I love this country but our government needs to start focusing back on people rather than money.

Amen Trout! Bill Maher was great this week!!! I agree about the Bush knowing in advance, just like he knew this was a possibility in advance! Then not to mobilize immediately? What the heck??? And how about the fact that he let Bin Laden's relatives leave the country after 9/11?  WTF?? UGH! Starr |

I love Bill Maher watch him every week. He really hates Bush and its funny. Lots of good points brought up on this weeks show. As far as Bush he talks all Christian but is all about HIS money.

A really excellent documentary is called "the power of nightmares" it aired on the bbc - it is all about the history of al queda, and the rise of the neocons - it's very interesting - al queda was on its last legs, and all the pr it received after 911 seems to havereally brought them back . If you really think about it, if the media put the terrorist information in the middle of section 3 or whatever, the terrorists would be out of business.
What you focus on is what you activate.
There are many "front page" readers out there who's attention would be completely off the situation if it wasn't front page news.

I think the USA gave Al Queda the guns and money to get started in the first place when we were trying to keep the Russians out of Afghanistan so we could have control. Daddy Bush was good friends with Bin Laden's dad and probably still is. I have the feeling that the elusive Bin Laden is not hiding down a fox hole but staying in a nice suite in the Ritz Carlton some where like Paris. The USA probably knows where and is footing the bill. Funny how they keep screaming Al Queda trying to tie them in with Iraq as a reason for us being there. What a bad farce it all is. Bush wants terrorists on the front page news so that hopefully the sheep will think they need him to protect us only some how he failed big time protecting the poor of New Orleans. "Dubya took his chevy to the levee but the levee wasn't dry". Not only did we fly the Bin Laden family out after 9~11 they were on the first plane allowed to leave and if they really were looking for Bin Laden they would have kept his family for questioning. Nothing rings true anymore.

You are so right Velma - I have a friend from Lebanon who told me right after 911 that no one in the arab world believed Al queda did the bombings because they (al queda) are such a joke in the arab world. I kind of just shrugged it off, every nation has their propoganda, but then I saw that BBC film I recommended above, and it talked about the violence that Alqueda did in Northern Africa (algeria) against muslim algerians, in the early 90s and how it really damaged that organisation to the point of no credibility, and it made me stop to think. It also said that after 911, al queda gained prestige just because it became an recepticle for a lot of disenfranchised youth who had nowhere else to turn.
Its so hard to sort fact from fiction in the media, unfortunately, thats the main tragedy...

AD. thanks for the links, I'll check them out. there is so much we don't know. makes me hope the earth changes predictions are real,, cause the path we are on now disturbes me more then Mother earth cleansing & balancing.. at least that is honest and those who survive it will be better off.
one more thought on fear . F.E.A.R. = false evidence appearing real.
I thought Bill maher's show this week was awesome.. loved Frances Kelly Berry.. can't wait to read some of her work.

starrlyte you are too funny! Wonder how long it will take him to not find anything. I heard he already plans on blaming the democrats and that is why one governor is already distancing herself from him.
Also heard Connie Rice was out shopping for new shoes after Katrina hit. Perhaps she can click them together and get back to Kansas because here is a news flash Connie most of New Orleans is no longer there. Notice how she and Bush avoid answering questions. It is called avoiding reality big time.
